Trying to build up a portfolio of work similar to that of magic the gathering. what do you guys think?

Looks really good!
There's a few things that come to my eye: The armour doesn't cast a shadow on the skin. You could argue, that's because the armour is so tight, but still, I think, there should be more shadows. And I feel like the hands are a bit too small. And maybe add a bit more facial expression.
But all in all you have a level of skill I probably will never reach. Especially the fabric and the wings look really cool and the amount of detail on the armour is incredible. A bit of work here and there and I am sure, you will be able to get a job at Wizards.
(And please don't misunderstand me. I don't want to criticize your work - not at all! I just want to help because sometimes it is hard to see your own mistakes. I am far behind you and the last guy, who would have the right to judge over your work. So keep on going and you will reach your goals! )
